As displayed, this armor is for the field of battle, but with the substitution of various "pieces of exchange," it could be used in the joust or sporting foot combat.

Of the exchange pieces to this harness, only one spaudler (shoulder defense) and portions of its mate, are known, preserved in the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy
