Armor 1 from Küsnacht, after restoration (by Tordemann). Middle of the 14th century. Küsnacht armor number 1 can be regarded as a transitional stage in the development of solid breastplate, its original form. Side view leaves no doubt concerning its lacing. In any case, lentner didn’t reach far above the top of three breast and back strips. Outside left and right plates or edge of the lentner held a pretty broad shoulder protective strip, reinforced with plate armor. A three-segment pauldron (only one side part survived to our days) was probably attached to it. Upper part of the chest and throat was protected by chain mail.
